The OLD DUX ASSOCIATION is an independent and self financing group of ex R.A.F. personnel of all ranks who served at R.A.F. Duxford during its time as an operational station.

The inaugural meeting of the Old Dux Association took place at the I.W.M. Duxford in May 1995, 32 ex personnel attended with their wives and friends, a total of nineteen guests....but let us start at the very beginning !  It was in 1958 when 'Bob' Hope said his goodbyes to R.A.F. Duxford, he travelled extensively abroad with his family but over the years still kept in touch with his old friend Jim Lynn. It was mid December 1993, six years after his return to this country when Bob decided to send Christmas cards to all his old contacts and wait to see what happened.  An unexpected response came from another old friend,  'Jim' Garlinge who thought at that time Bob was still in Australia. They arranged to meet again at Duxford during Easter of '94 where after hours of, "I wonder what happened to old so and so ?" and "remember that time when we...?."   that they decided that it must not end there.   At a later date Bob, Jim and Don Chappel, whom Jim had managed to contact, arranged a meeting with Steven Woolford of the I.W.M. Duxford. The ensuing three hour conversation was recorded and Bob, Jim and Don donated a carefully prepared album of photographs of their time at Duxford to the museum.
